How much does Wix cost compared with UpTopWeb?
Wix's Light plan is £9 a month and Core, which adds booking and payments, is £16 a month. Both are yearly plans paid upfront, with VAT added on top, and paying month by month costs more; Wix only shows that price at checkout. There's also a free plan with Wix branding and no custom domain. UpTopWeb is £0 upfront, then £19.99 a month or £191.90 a year, and that covers the design, build, hosting, support and unlimited minor edits, which you'd otherwise do yourself on Wix.
I'm about to set up a Wix site. Should I?
It depends how you want to spend your time. Wix suits you if you'd enjoy building the site yourself, want to start on a free plan, or need booking and payments straight away. Before you start, pick your template carefully, because you can't switch it later, and bear in mind a Wix site can't be moved to another host. If you'd rather not build it yourself, or want a design made around your practice from the start, that's what UpTopWeb does, with a 10-day free trial to see your draft first.
Can you move my Wix site to UpTopWeb?
Yes, though not by copying it. Wix sites can't be exported, so we rebuild your site from your existing pages, photos and a fresh brief. Keep Wix live until the new site launches. If your domain was bought through Wix, you can transfer it away: Wix's help centre explains you unlock it, receive an authorisation code by email, and the transfer can take up to a week. If you're on a yearly Wix plan, note your renewal date so you don't renew by accident.
I built my site with Wix's AI. Why pay for a designer?
An AI builder is a quick way to get something online, and for some practices that's enough. What it can't do is know your practice: which clients you're best placed to help, how to describe your approach, or exactly how your registration should be worded. We write and design around that, check every claim with you before launch, then keep it current.
Does UpTopWeb include booking like Wix does?
Not as standard. Booking, payment and scheduling features are a paid extra with us, agreed and priced before we start. Wix includes scheduling and payments on its Core plan and above, so if online booking is essential from day one, weigh that up.

Do I own my website?
You own your domain, and your content and assets, meaning the words, photos and logos. The website itself, including its code and design components, is owned by UpTopWeb, and your subscription licenses you to use it while it continues. If you'd like to acquire the site outright, for example to move it to your own hosting, you can request a one-off transfer at any time, with a fee agreed individually.
Is SEO included?
Foundational SEO, meaning structure, page speed, headings and metadata, plus AI search optimisation, is built into every site from launch. Local SEO, Google Business Profile management and extra location pages are paid add-ons. We can't guarantee a particular search ranking, because that depends on factors beyond the website.
How do content changes work?
Unlimited minor updates are included, such as text changes, image swaps, price updates, contact details and adding or removing services on existing pages. Bigger jobs, like new pages or new functionality, are quoted before we start.
Is there a contract, or can I cancel any time?
There's no contract. You can cancel free during the 10-day trial, or any time afterwards to stop the next renewal.
What happens if I move away from UpTopWeb?
When you cancel, our hosting and support for your site ends and it comes down. Your domain, content and assets stay yours to take elsewhere. The site's code stays with UpTopWeb, unless you agree a one-off transfer with us.
